The Clock Is Ticking...
I want to challenge you to take some time to get alone. Spend some time reflecting on 2017… and then spend some time thinking, dreaming, and praying about 2018. The clock is ticking. You don’t get a second shot at today. It’s later than it has ever been.
2018 is a clean canvas that God puts in our hands and with His help, we can paint a beautiful picture this coming year.
The Bible says that the Lord has numbered our days and by the fact that I am going to be out of commission for January with a total knee replacement, means that my body is wearing out…another sign that our days are numbered. Our death certificate is as certain are our birth certificate. You and I get only one shot at this thing called “life”. There is no do-over. So, that raises the stakes on how we live in 2018.
So, where do we start? There is a passage of Scripture written by the apostle Paul that I believe might be a great passage to ponder as you move into the New Year. It is found in Romans 13:11-12, “Another reason for right living is that you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for the coming of our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So don't live in darkness. Get rid of your evil deeds. Shed them like dirty clothes. Clothe yourselves with the armor of right living, as those who live in the light.” (NLT) We need to choose to live with a sense of priority and urgency. In 2018 make it…
Let’s commit to living a “no regret year”.
