Children's Church COVID-19 Health and Safety Procedures

UPDATED: March 2021

We are excited to offer opportunities for your children to grow in the Lord in a safe environment!  We will continue to update this page.  For parents who are ready to bring their children back to church, the following Lighthouse Kids ministries will be available. If you are considering if your child is well enough to come to church today, refer to our Child Wellness Policy.  Please visit us in a couple weeks (symptom free) if your child has been exposed to covid-19 or is exhibiting covid-19 symptoms.

Children's Church and Nursery

Sundays, 9:00AM & 10:30AM

Awana

Wednesdays, September-May, we will be offering Awana from 6:20-8:00PM.  This ministry is available for 2 years old to 5th Grade.

We would like to encourage families to bring their children to these ministries by providing the following safety precautions to minimize the spread of illness:

  • Encouraging physical distancing
  • Providing optional face masks for children Pre-K to 5th Grade
  • Implementing that volunteers wear face coverings
  • Providing nursery volunteers with shoe covers and aprons
  • Equipping the nursery with a shoe shelf where volunteers will store infants and toddlers shoes during the service
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces and toys before and after service
  • Providing hand sanitizer at check-in/check-out and in the classrooms
  • Scheduling a time during the service when children wash their hands
  • Offering pre-packaged snacks to children
  • Limiting Children’s Ministry areas to children and volunteers only
  • Providing a safe check-in/check-out experience (see below for more details)
Check-in*:
All children attending Lighthouse Kids Children's Church or Nursery will check-in at the Nursery Check-in Counter. Parents/Guardians will form a line down the hallway across from the Nursery (past the Welcome Center) 6 feet apart to check-in their children. Signs will be posted. You will receive a check-out tag and name tag for your child. After checking in, nursery aged children will be taken to their class by a volunteer and Pre-K (potty-trained) to 5th grade will be dropped off with a teacher at the top of the stairs going down to the Children’s Church area who will help assist them with finding their classrooms.

Check-out*:
Two lines will be provided for check-out.  If picking up a child from Nursery, line up along the back wall of the central foyer (under the "Nursery" sign).  If picking up a child from Children's Church, line-up in the same hall used for check-in facing the door to the Children’s Church area. Present your check-out tag and a volunteer will be available to assist you. To help reduce congestion in the south foyer (foyer right outside of the Auditorium) and reserve our south entrance for second service attendees, please exit toward the north foyer (foyer that leads to the adult classrooms).

* Awana will handle check-in similar to Children's Church. Check-out will be handled at each specific Club Meeting location. Contact the church office for more details: 314-291-6919
